This is one of the most representative paintings by the Venetian artist and his unique way of portraying Venice, the city he deeply loves, as it has shaped and forged him in every corner of his soul. Precisely because of this intense bond, he sometimes almost seems to reject it. The lack of countryside has always pushed him to search for something else. Today, he refuses to paint conventional lagoon landscapes, unless they are chosen and desired by him. However, his views of palaces and openings onto canals, distinctive elements of his style, reveal the deep and never-broken bond with Venice.

Who is the artist

Lorenzo Usicco is a Venetian artist, painter, and decorator. After completing his artistic studies in Venice, he moved to Paris, where he lived for several years, specializing in interior decoration, frescoes, and wall paintings.

He has exhibited in numerous solo shows in Italy and France, and currently lives and works in the picturesque Euganean Hills, in the province of Padua, a territory he chose for its rich landscape, history, and culture.
