Lorenzo Usicco, Venetian Painter and Artist, creator of unique and original artworks, tells his story at Casal dei Pruni Déco

I am Lorenzo Usicco, a Venetian artist, painter, and decorator. I was born and trained in Venice, completing my artistic studies in the lagoon city before moving to Paris, where I lived for 10 years. In the French capital, I specialized in interior decoration, mural paintings, and frescoes, carrying out decorative works in important residences and palaces throughout France. Upon returning to Italy, I opened my art gallery in Venice and continued my work as a fresco painter, both in my city and in other Italian regions, including Puglia (Lecce-Bari-Molfetta-Conversano), Lazio (Bracciano-Rome-Viterbo), Liguria (Moneglia), and many other places. Alongside mural decoration, I have always cultivated and never abandoned my greatest passion, canvas painting, following a personal path, far from trends. My favorite subjects are intimate places, streets, objects, animals: themes that I deeply love and try to represent with an authentic, poetic gaze imbued with passion. My works have been exhibited in numerous solo shows in Italy and France. Today I live and work at the foot of the Euganean Hills, in the province of Padua, a place I chose for its natural beauty and history, and because it resembles me.

Review Art Studio - Casal Dei Pruni Déco

Lorenzo Usicco's canvases are based on a solid, traditional academic foundation, but enriched by an original, almost photographic compositional weave and cut. This unsettling approach decentralizes the subject, giving it a broader and unexpected scope. The protagonists of his works – houses with peeling walls, farmhouses, terraces, trees, sheep, horses, cows – are presented with a new perspective, as if appearing for the first time. Color is the dominant element: applied with dense and fluid brushstrokes, it recalls Venetian tonal painting, Giorgione, Titian, Bellini, Tiepolo. The result is genuine and vital painting, constantly evolving, capable of conveying emotion. And this, certainly, is no small feat.

Art as Value
For Casal dei Pruni Déco

Sometimes we are asked why a piece of furniture might have a certain cost, or why a painting, which for some means a lot and for others less, has a certain value.

We would like to answer this question with sincerity and respect, because we understand that it is not always easy to put oneself in an artist's shoes. Theirs is an atypical job in today's world: a job where the time and processes are often not seen, but only the final result, the work itself.

In reality, even a simple hand-painted piece of furniture requires a long process: preparation, study, work, finishing. It can take more than a month of work. A time that deserves to be considered and respected as much as the time of any other profession.

Often, however, only the finished object tends to be evaluated, as if it were separate from the time, effort, and dedication that made it possible. And this is how one can be surprised by a price that, in reality, reflects deep and authentic work.

That is why every creation signed by Casal dei Pruni Déco is not just a piece of furniture or a simple decoration, but a unique piece destined to last, which you can easily purchase here Online, and which will carry its soul with it.
